Puberty gingivitis is a common gum problem that happens in teenagers during puberty. Hormonal changes make the gums more sensitive to dental plaque (the sticky layer on teeth), causing swelling and bleeding.
Signs and symptoms:
Gums become red and swollen
Gums bleed while brushing or flossing
Gums may feel sore or tender
Bad breath may occur
